CRAIG HARPER
B.Ex.Sci. Craig
Harper is one of Australia’s leading presenters and
motivators in the areas of health and fitness. Craig has worked in
the fitness industry since 1982. In that time he has worked as an
instructor, coach, corporate consultant, personal development
speaker, life coach, AFL conditioning coach, health and fitness
writer and successful business owner. In
1990 Craig established Harper’s Personal Training,
which
in the last twelve years has evolved into the largest business of
its kind in Australia, completing over 50,000 Personal Training
sessions per year. In
September 1998 Craig opened the largest Personal Training facility
in the Southern Hemisphere, a 10,000 square foot centre located in
Brighton, Victoria. In the last five years Craig has written
extensively for many newspapers and magazines, the most notable of
these being the Herald Sun Newspaper where he was a regular
contributor for three years. In October of 2003 Craig released his
first book. Fattitude is
a book which addresses many of the emotional and psychological
hurdles and obstacles we encounter as we endeavour to create our
‘best’ body. Craig has appeared several times “Today
Tonight” and “A Current Affair” providing expert comment and
works regularly on Melbourne radio. Craig
has immense empathy for, and understanding of, those who
constantly struggle with the issues of obesity, fitness and
motivation, having been an obese child and teenager. Weighing 90
kilograms as a 14 year old has given him a unique perspective and
philosophy when it comes to weight-loss and creating change. Craig
believes that for most people getting “in shape” and staying
in shape is more of a psychological and emotional challenge than
it is a physical one. In
the last ten years Craig has developed a health and fitness
philosophy that is not only easy to understand and embrace but
also fun to learn. While he is a qualified exercise scientist, he
speaks a language which is listener friendly and delivers a
presentation which will motivate and inspire an audience to take
action. Craig
works with Olympians and corporates, through to mums and dads who
just want to lose a few pounds.
His laid back and fun presentation style is one that will
both entertain and challenge audiences. Craig is an active member of Bayside Community Church.
