Background:

Sheridan Voysey is writer, speaker and broadcaster based in Sydney , Australia .

As a writer Sheridan is the author of the award-winning Unseen Footprints: Encountering the Divine Along the Journey of Life (Scripture Union, 2005), which was named 2006 Christian Book of the Year by SPCK. Sheridan is also a contributor to Australian Stories for Life (Strand, 2005) and Australian Stories to Inspire the Heart ( Strand , 2006). Sheridan writes a regular column for Alive Magazine, and has been published in numerous publications, including Discipleship Journal. His second book, Unveiled Faces is expected for publication late 2008.

As a speaker Sheridan regularly addresses issues of contemporary life, faith and culture. Passionate about everyday people hearing the whispers of God and changing their world, Sheridan speaks across denominations and in mainstream settings. His aim is to catalyse spiritual vitality and motivate Christian action in a perilous yet exciting, beautiful yet broken world.

As a broadcaster Sheridan hosts Open House, a live talk show heard around Australia every Sunday night, exploring life, faith and culture. During his thirteen years as a broadcaster Sheridan has interviewed some of the most prominent names in the Christian and mainstream world. Sheridan is also the National Coordinator/Creative Director of Compassion Day—a national radio event in partnership with Compassion Australia which sees hundreds of children released from poverty each year.

Sheridan holds degrees in theology and communication, and has served in numerous church and para-church leadership roles. He is married to Merryn, loves Thai food, is somewhat partial to dark chocolate, devours books, values solitude, hopes to one day own a puppy and is constantly working on his sense of humour. His website is www.thethoughtfactory.net.

We at Compassion Australia feel privileged to work with Sheridan on the planning, production and execution of our national Compassion Day radiothon. Under Sheridan ’s leadership and expertise, this annual event has seen double the amount of radio stations taking part and the highest number of children rescued from poverty ever. He is a skilful writer, speaker and broadcaster who knows what it takes to put together a campaign that is both entertaining and profitable. He has a great deal to offer the wider church and para-church movements through his distinct ability to understand the times in which we live and communicate a relevant and inspiring message into them.

World Vision continues to enjoy Sheridan 's ability to bring direction and entertainment to our donor appreciation events. Professional yet personal, humorous yet sensitive to the human problems our organisation deals with, Sheridan closes the gap between audience and presenter, bringing warmth and insight to the role of Speaker or MC.
Mike Pattison,
WA State Manager, World Vision Australia

It was a pleasure to have Sheridan speak at our recent men’s breakfast event. He is an inspiring speaker who used his thoughts, reflections and his own life’s experiences to inspire and encourage our capacity crowd. He kept the audience captivated with practical humour.
